Patuxent River State Park, 6700 acres of natural areas is a great place for hunting, fishing, hiking and horseback riding and Seneca Creek State Park are both located in Gaithersburg.
Other national attractions include the National Capital Trolley Museum, Clara Barton National Historic Site and the National Library of Medicine. Montgomery County has numerous golf courses from executive to championship.
