Travel the roads once traveled by our forefathers, and learn about Head of Elk, where the largest British landing of the Revolutionary War took place.
Other Cecil attractions include; Elk Neck State Park- 2200 acres of lush waterfront forest; with ten miles of hiking trails, sandy beach, boat rentals and Turkey Point Lighthouse, one of the bay’s oldest in continuous operation, Crystal Beach offers a public sandy beach on the Elk River, and Plumpton Park Zoo has over 250 animals including a beautiful Siberian tiger.
Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area provides 5600 acres of wilderness and 40 miles of trails for biking, hiking, and horse back riding and was the location of the movie set “Beloved”.
Fair Hill hosts outdoor events including numerous equestrian activities, Highland Gathering Scottish Games, Fair Hill Steeplechase Races, Fair Hill International and Cecil County Fair.
